• A STORY OF RECOVERY •
"Le Râle Silencieux" translated by "The Silent Rattle" merges in 2015, from a taboo story, the one we keep to ourselves, of which we are ashamed and which torments us: the story of a rape.
An intimate, raw, and sensitive autobiographical story, like a diary. Composed of twenty pages and 10 illustrations, the story traces the emotional stages of the reconstruction of a rape victim.
There are 2 characters, a young girl victim of a rape and her ghost; symbolizing his trauma. We accompany him in his daily life, facing his dark and poignant inner dilemmas. The text is written in the first person to bring you closer to this anonymous heroine, her emotions, and her fight for recovery.
The creation of this book, although difficult, brought me a form of inner liberation. Writing my story allowed me to transform a painful past into a strong and positive experience. I wanted to show that rape is not an inevitability of a dramatic destiny from which we cannot escape.
It is important for me to send a message of hope to all women who have gone through a similar experience because they are not alone, but also to help those around them to understand certain emotional defense mechanisms and the feelings of shame felt by the victims.
